The death toll in Lebanon increased further, with the Ministry of Public Health announcing new cumulative numbers for the Israeli aggression, at a time when the south today witnessed a widespread field escalation that included raids, bombings, and targeting that affected a number of towns.
The Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health announced, in a statement, that the cumulative toll of the aggression from March 2 to September 5 amounted to 4,358 martyrs and 12,359 wounded.
The center added that, thus, the total toll of the aggression since October 8, 2023 until today rises to 8,925 martyrs and 30,595 wounded.
These numbers come in light of the continued Israeli escalation in the south, where border towns witnessed a series of raids, bombings, and field movements today. Information indicated that Israeli forces entered the western outskirts of the town of Mays al-Jabal and brought a truck loaded with explosive materials before booby-trapping a number of homes in preparation for blowing them up.
Strong explosions also sounded in the town of Bani Hayyan, while Al-Mansouri witnessed a series of explosions, including 3 explosions in the vicinity of the school. The National Agency reported that an Israeli drone dropped explosive materials on homes in the town, before a powerful explosion was recorded using booby-trapped barrels that the drones had dropped in the morning.
This escalation comes in parallel with the continuation of Israeli raids and targeting on more than one southern axis, which keeps the human toll likely to rise in light of the continuation of field operations.
