Representative Hassan Murad confirmed, during a celebration honoring the “Al-Ghad Al-Afdal” club on the occasion of winning the Lebanese Championship for the third division and rising to the second division, that this achievement constitutes a source of pride for the Bekaa Valley, and confirms the ability of its youth to achieve success despite the challenges.
Murad considered that sport goes beyond competition and titles, to be a school for building people and enhancing discipline, teamwork and belonging, stressing that investing in clubs and youth is an investment in the future.
Regarding development matters, Murad stressed that “the Bekaa is not a fifth grade,” and that its people deserve their full rights and balanced development like other regions. He called for resolving the building permit file, addressing the sorting plant, completing the Dahr al-Baydar Road and the Bekaa Tunnel, protecting the Litani River, and securing the government hospital, schools, university, job opportunities, and vital projects. He said: “We do not want pity, we want justice, and we do not want promises, we want implementation.”
He also stressed the necessity of achieving the rights of villages and municipalities away from discretion, noting that a number of files have begun to move towards implementation, stressing that demanding the rights of the Bekaa is not at the expense of any region, but rather in the face of deprivation and discrimination, stressing that the Bekaa is not a reservoir of votes, but rather a region that deserves its full rights and balanced development.
Regarding national affairs, Murad renewed his adherence to the Taif Agreement, as a guarantee of Lebanon’s unity and sovereignty, balanced development and the rule of law, rejecting exclusion and marginalization.
He also condemned the Israeli attacks on the south, calling for an end to the aggression, withdrawal from Lebanese territory, reconstruction, and the return of people to their villages.
Murad concluded by congratulating the “Al-Ghad Al-Afdal” club, its management, technical staff, players and fans, stressing that success is the result of will and work, and said: “The Bekaa is alive with stars, and you are the stars.”
