US Vice President J.D. Vance mocked pro-Palestine demonstrators who gathered outside the library of former US President Richard Nixon, where he was participating in an official event, calling on them to address him “in a language he understands.”
Vance said, in statements to reporters, that demonstrators were waving Palestinian flags and chanting in Spanish, adding sarcastically: “The Vice President cannot understand what you are protesting against if you do not speak in the language that everyone here understands.”
Addressing the protesters, he added: “If you want the vice president to hear what you are protesting about, you must use language that I actually understand.”
Vance’s statements came during an event held at the library of former President Richard Nixon, coinciding with a protest organized by supporters of the Palestinian cause outside the venue.
