The Israeli army spokeswoman, Lieutenant Colonel Ella Wawiyeh, considered that “Lebanon’s future begins when Hezbollah stops holding the state hostage, and gives Lebanon the opportunity to choose its own path.”

She added, in a post on social media, that the Lebanese do not want to remain “hostage to Hezbollah’s decisions,” considering that every child, mother, youth, and family in Lebanon has the right to live “in dignity, safety, and hope for a better future.”

She said that the Lebanese have the right “to build their country and live for their future, not for wars they did not choose,” as she put it.
