“Lebanon Debate”

The municipality of Mifdoun and the official town center mourned the young woman, Maryam Jamal Salama, 18 years old, who was martyred as a result of the Israeli raid that targeted her home in the town yesterday evening, Friday, and also led to the injury of 5 people.

In poignant words, Mifidoun Public School recalled her daughter, who learned on her desks and rose through the ranks “with remarkable diligence and refinement,” noting that, on her last night, she was among her family and siblings arranging her activities for the next day, and also arranging her ambitions for the future, before one of the raids targeted her house and it remained under the rubble.

Search operations and the removal of rubble continued for hours, before Maryam was found as a martyr, a news that filled her town, her family, and her colleagues with sadness.

Mifdoun was subjected to two Israeli raids on Friday evening, while initial information at the time indicated that a number of casualties had occurred, before the outcome of the attack was confirmed, with Maryam being martyred and five people injured.

Salama’s martyrdom comes in light of the continued Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, as the outskirts of Mifdoun were again exposed today, Saturday, to shelling from an Israeli tank, which led to the outbreak of a fire.
