The Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haykal, received in his office in Yarzeh the Chargé d’Affaires of the French Embassy in Lebanon, Bruno da Silva, accompanied by a delegation from the embassy, ​​where a number of files related to the cooperation and support provided to the military institution were discussed.

During the meeting, da Silva handed the Army Commander an official invitation to participate in the preparatory meeting for the international conference dedicated to supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces, scheduled to be held in the French capital, Paris.

Military delegations and experts from a number of countries are expected to participate in the meeting, with discussions focusing on the needs of the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, and mechanisms for coordinating support provided to military and security institutions.

The preparatory meeting comes within the framework of preparations for the international conference on supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces, which aims to discuss logistical, equipment and training needs, in addition to ways to enhance the capabilities of the Lebanese security institutions.

During the past years, France has participated in support and training programs for the Lebanese Army and the Internal Security Forces, along with a number of partner countries, within the framework of existing military and security cooperation with Lebanon.
