It was learned that 8 Syrian citizens were arrested by Israeli forces from within Lebanese territory, during operations carried out in southern Lebanon, and their file is still separate from the list of Lebanese prisoners held by Israel.
According to the information, the names and information of the eight Syrians were listed, and the Syrian authorities were informed of the file and names to follow up on their fate, given that they are Syrian citizens who were arrested while they were on Lebanese territory.
An important development occurred in the file during the past few days, after a Syrian detainee who was being held in the Israeli Ofer Prison was released and returned about a week ago. After his release, he provided direct information about the Syrians detained from Lebanon, confirming that he saw 7 of the eight inside the prison, recognized them, and called them by name.
As for the eighth Syrian detainee, the released one confirmed that he did not see him during his period of detention in Ofer, which means that direct testimony proves the presence of the seven in the prison, while the whereabouts of the eighth and the conditions of his detention remain undecided yet.
This testimony is of particular importance, because it moves the file of these people from the stage of information about their arrest and taking them from southern Lebanon to the presence of a witness who was recently released from Israeli prison and confirms that he actually met 7 of them.
