Mount Jeb Jenin in the Western Bekaa district witnessed a fire that required the intervention of teams from several Lebanese Civil Defense centers, who worked to combat the fire and limit its expansion to neighboring areas, before they were able to completely extinguish it.

The Department of Information and Public Relations at the General Directorate of Lebanese Civil Defense announced, in a statement, that the participating elements continued fighting operations until the fire was completely controlled. The statement did not include details about the causes of the outbreak or the area of ​​​​the affected lands.

The Ministry of Environment had stressed, in a statement dated June 24, 2026, the necessity of adhering to preventive measures during the season of high risk of forest fires, calling for not burning the remains of pruning, pruning, and dry weeds, and adopting safe alternatives, such as converting them into organic fertilizer or chopping them and using them as soil cover.
