The South Lebanon Water Corporation announced the completion of the necessary technical work to rehabilitate and re-operate the Batoulet station, as part of its efforts to enhance the continuity of water supply and improve service in the beneficiary areas, in cooperation with UNICEF.
The Corporation explained, in a statement, that the work included maintaining the submersible pumps and conducting technical and operational tests, which allowed the station to be put back into service and efficient pumping resumed.
She added that water was re-pumped from the Batuleh station to the Siddiqin station, which feeds by gravity the towns of Ramadi, Al-Shaitiya, Al-Kanna, Al-Malikiyah, Al-Bayad, Jabal Al-Butm, Deir Ams, Rashkananiyeh, Zabqin, Siddiqin, Mazraat Mushrif, Hanawiyeh, Central Line and Qana.
Pumping has also resumed from the Siddiqin station towards the Kafra station, which supplies water to the towns of Deir Amis, Al-Assi, Kafra, Yater, Beit Lev, Dibal, Ain Ebel, Ramia, Al-Qawzah, Aita Al-Jabal, Rmeish, Rashaf, Hadada, Al-Tiri, Beit Yahoun, Tebnine, Bint Jbeil, Aitaroun, Ainata, Maroun Al-Ras and Yaroun, in addition to the areas fed directly from the Batoulih station, which contributes to water supply. Enhancing the stability of water supply and improving service to subscribers.
The Corporation pointed out that the completion of these works comes within the framework of ongoing cooperation with UNICEF, in support of the water sector infrastructure, ensuring the sustainability of the operation of vital facilities and ensuring access to water to subscribers.
