In a clear race with the clocks of the US-Iranian agreement, it seems that Israel is trying to transfer the pressure to the Lebanese arena, by pushing for a quick agreement with Lebanon before the issue of its withdrawal from it turns into a fixed card on the table of Washington and Tehran.
The newspaper “Israel Hayom” revealed, citing sources, that Israel wants to accelerate contacts with Lebanon, with the aim of reaching an agreement before the full agreement between Washington and Tehran is completed.
According to the sources, reaching an agreement with Lebanon would remove from the negotiating table Iran’s condition related to Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanon.
These data come in light of an American-Iranian negotiating track, which Israel is trying, according to what the newspaper reported, to precede it by moving the Lebanese track, in a way that prevents the withdrawal from Lebanon from remaining a card within the terms of the negotiation between Washington and Tehran.
