Trump said that Syria could have a role in bringing peace to Lebanon, considering that the Syrian president “is doing a good job,” noting at the same time that “the Hezbollah file must be resolved one way or another.”
Regarding Israel, Trump said that “Israel can do better towards Lebanon,” adding that “Israel should not respond in Beirut to the fall of two drones in the desert,” and confirming that he had sent a copy of the memorandum of understanding with Iran to Israel.
Regarding the memorandum of understanding with Iran, Trump said that Washington will sign it soon, noting that it may be signed tomorrow or Friday, and considering that it is “good and everyone will realize that when the text is published,” and that it will establish broader peace in the region.
Trump stressed that Iran wants to sign and implement the agreement, and that it will not possess or develop a nuclear weapon, noting that technical discussions regarding Iran’s nuclear stockpile will begin immediately.
Trump said that Washington is carefully monitoring, from space, the locations of Iran’s nuclear stockpiles, adding: “We will get Iranian nuclear fallout,” stressing that Iran would have used nuclear weapons if it had obtained it.
He stressed that he informed the Iranians that Washington would return to bombing if they did not comply, and said: “If Iran does not implement the memorandum of understanding within 60 days, we will return to bombing.”
Trump confirmed that he would not give Iran any money, adding: “We will not give Iran any money, unlike Obama.” He said that Obama gave Iran $1.7 billion in cash and opened the way for it to obtain nuclear weapons.
He pointed out that the G7 leaders supported the agreement with Iran, and that Washington’s allies were “very happy” that the agreement was concluded, adding that he discussed the memorandum of understanding with the United States’ closest allies.
Regarding Netanyahu, Trump said that the Israeli prime minister “gets a little angry,” but that he was a “good partner” in the agreement with Iran.
Trump confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz would be opened immediately, and that the natural flow of oil through it would resume immediately, pointing out that navigation traffic in the Strait had increased greatly, and that he did not want to see an economic disaster due to its closure.
He added that stock markets rose to their highest levels, while oil prices fell.
Trump said that no one was sharper towards Iran than him, stressing that there was no talk of regime change in Iran as a goal, before he considered that the current leaders in Iran represent “regime change,” and that they will act in a different way.
He concluded by noting that American planes flew in the skies of Iran without being detected, and that if Iran cooperated, it would have a chance to survive, stressing that the issue of Iranian missiles and its affiliated factions would be a subject of discussion.
