5,708 field inspection visits were carried out.
256 arrest reports were written, and 242 reports were referred to the competent judiciary.
It responded to 348 complaints.
– Since the beginning of the year – from the first of January until the 22nd of this current:
8,812 field inspection visits were carried out.
402 arrest reports were written, and 540 reports were referred to the judiciary.
It responded to 530 complaints.
– During the week of May 18-22:
The Consumer Protection Directorate responded to 37 complaints and carried out 664 investigations, resulting in 17 arrest reports.
The intensification of the Consumer Protection Directorate’s oversight tours has continued since the beginning of the current war, following a circular by the Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Amer Al-Bassat called for stricter censorship (issued on 3/3/2026).”
The Ministry of Economy and Trade indicated that “its monitoring campaigns will continue in coordination with the security services, and that it will take the necessary legal measures against violators, to ensure consumer protection and market stability.”
