: The judiciary in Beirut triumphs.. A message from Ahmed Hariri following the Saqiyat al-Janzeer incident

In the wake of the tense events that took place in the Saqiet al-Janzeer area in Beirut, there was a prominent position by the Secretary-General of the Future Movement, Ahmed Hariri, as he praised the role played by the judiciary in controlling the situation and preventing its aggravation and escalation.

Hariri expressed his opinion through his account on the “X” platform, saying: “Thank you to the impartial judiciary that protected civil peace in Beirut today. Thank you to the government commissioner to the military court, Judge Claude Ghanem,” referring to the judicial measures that were taken after the incident.

This position comes at a time when the region witnessed a state of security tension, which required rapid intervention by the relevant security services, amid fears of the spread of the problem and its impact on stability in the capital.

The background to Hariri’s position goes back to the Saqiyat al-Janzeer incident that occurred earlier today, where a field dispute broke out in the security- and politically sensitive area, which led to a rapid alert by the security and military forces to control the situation and prevent it from getting out of control.

According to available information, judicial intervention, in particular by the government commissioner to the military court, Judge Claude Ghanem, played a major role in following up on the case and taking the necessary measures quickly, which contributed to containing the potential repercussions and blocking any escalation.

The Saqiet al-Janzeer area is considered one of the sensitive areas in Beirut, due to its geographical location and demographic composition, which makes any security incident there susceptible to escalation quickly if it is not dealt with firmly and quickly.

In this context, Hariri had discussed the details of the incident in a series of positions that he published during the same day, warning of the danger of sliding into internal tensions, and stressing the need to resort to official institutions, especially the judiciary, to ensure that any problem is addressed within legal frameworks.

He also called for keeping the capital away from any conflicts or attempts to drag it into chaos, stressing that maintaining civil peace in Beirut remains a national priority that does not accept any risk.

This development comes in light of a delicate internal situation, coinciding with regional escalation and increasing security pressures, which makes internal stability more fragile, and highlights the importance of the role played by judicial and security institutions in controlling the situation and preventing its escalation.
