A reporter reported that unknown persons took advantage of the deteriorating security situation and stole a blue Toyota Corolla at night. The car was parked in front of the Darwish building in the town of Taybeh, on the road linking Baalbek to Riyaq.
This theft comes in light of the difficult security and economic conditions that Lebanon is going through, in conjunction with the ongoing military escalation and Israeli raids targeting large areas in the south, the Bekaa, and the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the accompanying tension and security anxiety throughout the country.
In recent days, the Lebanese front has witnessed a noticeable increase in the number of air strikes and artillery shelling, in addition to repeated warnings from the Israeli side for residents to evacuate certain areas and buildings, which sparked panic among civilians.
These events contributed to the displacement of large numbers of residents from the border areas and targeted villages towards safer areas inland, resulting in increased pressure on infrastructure and services, and creating additional difficulties on both the humanitarian and social levels.
In light of this situation, fears are increasing about the worsening manifestations of chaos and insecurity, while the security services focus their efforts on monitoring field events and the effects of the ongoing military escalation.
