Hezbollah denied any connection to a list of names circulated on social media, which allegedly included people accused of working for Israel, stressing that it did not stand behind its publication, and calling for not to be drawn into what it described as attempts to stir up strife and confusion.
Hezbollah’s media relations said in a statement that a list of a number of names had spread on social media platforms, with allegations that it was published by “activists close to Hezbollah,” in an attempt to suggest that the party was behind it.
The statement stressed that Hezbollah “is not concerned with this list, neither remotely nor remotely,” calling for dealing responsibly with such allegations, and considering that the aim of publishing it is to create confusion and strife.
The party stressed that it “has never been in the position of classifying people, accusing them of their national background, or betraying them, no matter how severe the political differences.”
He added, “National responsibility, especially in these sensitive circumstances, requires verifying the veracity of the news and allegations being published, and not making arbitrary accusations to settle personal or political scores.”
This statement comes in light of the increasing circulation of unverified lists and publications across social media platforms, which include accusations of people dealing with Israel or committing security violations, without the issuance of any official positions or statements confirming their authenticity, which prompts the concerned authorities to warn of the dangers of publishing unverified information that may raise tensions and divisions.
