وقفة دعم لعميد كلية الحقوق… وتحذير من التوظيف السياسي للإعلام

Residents of Tamnine El Tahta and neighboring villages organized a solidarity stand today to support Dr. Mujtaba Mortada, Director of the Faculty of Law at the Lebanese University.

During the stand, speakers called for “establishing the truth away from any political or media targeting,” affirming their confidence in the Lebanese judiciary and stressing the need to “not succumb to what some media outlets have promoted, which preceded the judiciary in launching accusations, conducting media trials, and issuing presumptive judgments.”

Participants also referred to the information provided by Dr. Mortada’s lawyer, which states that “the file is devoid of any criminal act,” clarifying that “the presumptive decision was issued against the backdrop of a training course that Dr. Mortada held for students of the Institute of Judicial Studies in the Faculty of Law building – Branch One, with the knowledge and approval of the President of the Lebanese University.”

The speakers warned against any media or political targeting, demanding that the judiciary “resort to the standards of true justice away from political pressure,” and emphasizing that any shortcomings in this regard may push them to take “escalatory steps at the level of various Lebanese regions.”
