The head of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, said that the movement had received guarantees from the mediators and the American administration confirming that the war had completely ended.

Al-Hayya’s words came during a speech he delivered in which he addressed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, “Today we announce the conclusion of an agreement to end the war and aggression against our people and begin implementing a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupation forces, the entry of aid, the opening of the Rafah crossing in both directions, and the exchange of prisoners, where 250 lifelong prisoners and 1,700 prisoners from the Gaza Strip who were arrested after October 7 will be released as well.” “For the release of all children and women.”

He added, “We received guarantees from the mediator brothers and the American administration, all confirming that the war has ended completely, and we will continue to work with the national and Islamic forces to complete the remaining steps and work to achieve the interests of our Palestinian people, self-determination, and fulfillment of their rights until the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

Al-Hayya continued, “The world stood in amazement at the sacrifices, steadfastness and patience made by the people of the Gaza Strip.”

He added, “The people of the Gaza Strip fought a war the likes of which the world had never witnessed, and they confronted the enemy’s tyranny, the brutality of his army, and its massacres. The people of Gaza stood like mountains and did not lose their resolve in the face of killing, displacement, hunger, the loss of their families, and the loss of their homes.”

Al-Hayya stressed, “On the anniversary of the glorious battle of October 7, we salute our martyrs, including the leaders of the flood bombers, Haniyeh, Al-Arouri, Al-Sanwar, and Al-Deif.”

He continued, “We stand before the heroics of the resistance men who fought from point zero and were like a mighty mountain in front of the occupation tanks. The resistance heroes foiled everything the enemy planned of displacement, starvation, and creating chaos.”
