In the most violent field escalation in years, the Houthis announced, today, Tuesday, the implementation of a massive wave of attacks using ballistic missiles and drones, targeting vital and sensitive military installations in the southern depths of Saudi Arabia.
According to what the “Ansar Allah” group announced on the “Telegram” platform, the strikes targeted Abha Airport and King Khalid Air Base, as well as vital facilities belonging to the Aramco oil company in the Abha and Jazan regions. On the other hand, the Saudi authorities did not issue any immediate official comment confirming these attacks or revealing the extent of the damage or injuries resulting from them.
Yemen’s fronts are hot This surprise attack comes in response to accusations leveled by the Houthis against Riyadh of launching intense air strikes and cruise missile attacks targeting the governorates of Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda, Ma’rib, and Taiz, in conjunction with fierce battles raging on the ground between the group’s militants and government forces supported by the coalition.
Since last Thursday, the Yemeni fronts have witnessed the most violent clashes in years, following a massive ground attack launched by the Houthis, accompanied by missile bombardment and drones that struck the coast overlooking the Red Sea and the vicinity of Taiz, in a strategic attempt to advance towards the areas adjacent to the vital Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Human losses inside On the humanitarian and field level, the Director General of Civil Defense in Al-Jawf Governorate, Hassan Sabola, reported that 11 people were killed as a result of an air strike targeting the Central Correctional Facility in the governorate, pointing to strenuous efforts searching for 20 missing inmates under the rubble. The Houthi-run Saba Agency reported that among the victims was a child who was visiting the facility at the time it was targeted.
