The Mufti of Akkar, Sheikh Zaid Bakkar Zakaria, received a wide series of condolence calls and visits for the death of his mother, presented by a call from the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, while the Akkar Fatwa House witnessed a remarkable political, religious, judicial and security presence to offer condolences.
In this context, President Aoun called Mufti Zakaria, offering him and his family his deepest condolences and sympathy on the death of his mother, and expressing his solidarity with them in their affliction.
A number of current and former ministers and representatives also attended to offer their condolences, in addition to official, political, religious, judicial, military, security, trade union, economic and social leaders.
Mufti Zakaria received a number of condolence telegrams, most notably from Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, Army Commander General Rudolph Heikal, Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmed Al-Hajjar, Minister of Agriculture Nizar Hani, and Ambassador of the State of Qatar Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman bin Faisal Al Thani.

Condolences will be accepted next Monday in the hall of the Muhammad Al-Amin Mosque in Beirut, from 3 pm to 7 pm.
