Member of the “Strong Lebanon” bloc, MP Ghassan Atallah, announced his intention to challenge the general amnesty law, considering that it contains great injustice and serious mistakes, especially against the army and its martyrs.
Atallah said, in a post on the “X” platform: “We can say that, as usual, since 1988, we have been able to carry the ember of the fire and remain alone, standing with the truth at a time when everyone is turning a blind eye to falsehood.”
He added: “Today, it seems that we will once again be alone in confronting this law to clearly say that it contains great injustice and grave mistakes.”
He continued: “More importantly, we, who were born and raised from the womb of the army, will not accept today to see this injustice inflicted on the army and the army’s martyrs, and we will not turn a blind eye as others do.”
Atallah concluded: “From this standpoint, we affirm that we will appeal this law to protect the right and the military institution.”
