The General Directorate of Civil Defense announced that four citizens with whom contact had been lost were found in the Rashaya Al-Fakhar border area, after they had been captured during an Israeli patrol incursion into the outskirts of the town, while three others are still being held captive by Israel.
In a statement issued by the Department of Information and Public Relations, the Directorate explained that the Civil Defense teams, in cooperation with units of the Lebanese Army, began search and field follow-up operations immediately after losing contact with seven citizens, coinciding with an intense flight of Israeli drones over the area.
The statement added that follow-up and coordination efforts resulted in finding four citizens after they were released, stressing that they are all in good health, while follow-up continues with the concerned authorities to reveal the fate of the other three citizens and work to secure their release.
This development comes in light of the ongoing escalation on the southern border, with increasing Israeli incursions and air strikes in a number of border villages, amid mounting fears of the widening of the confrontation and the worsening security situation in the south.
