"The army is the mainstay of the nation"Jumblatt and Chehayeb send a message of confirmation

The head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Representative Taymour Jumblatt, continued his tours, which included spiritual authorities and various political forces. At the head of a delegation that included representatives of the “Democratic Gathering” and the Progressive Socialist Party, Jumblatt visited the Armenian Orthodox Catholicos of the House of Cilicia, Aram I Kashishian. He also met with the Secretary-General of the Dashnag Party in Lebanon, Albert Balabanian, in the presence of MP Hagop Pakradounian, member of the International Dashnag Committee, and former Minister Avedis Guidanian, member of the party’s Central Committee.

In addition to Jumblatt, the delegation included members of the “Democratic Gathering”: Akram Chehayeb, Wael Abu Faour, Hadi Abu Al-Hassan, and the Secretary-General of the “Progressive Party” Zafer Nasser, in addition to members of the Leadership Council, lawyer Lama Hariz and Kamel Al-Ghousaini, and Jumblatt’s advisor Hossam Harb.

During the two meetings, Jumblatt stressed “the necessity of rallying around the army and all security institutions, as they are the only guarantee of stability and the preservation of civil peace at this critical stage,” calling for “not to question the major missions they are carrying out.”

He also stressed “the importance of cooperation and coordination with official authorities to contribute to properly managing the displacement file at all levels.”

For its part, the Tashnak Party praised “the important work carried out by the Progressive Party at various levels.”

After the meeting held at the general headquarters of the Tashnag, MP Akram Chehayeb, a member of the “Democratic Gathering,” said that the visit comes “in light of these disastrous conditions,” explaining that it comes in the context of the spiritual and political visits conducted by the delegation headed by Taymour Jumblatt.

He added: “We stressed the importance of strengthening and protecting national unity in Lebanon, which is the title of this stage in light of the difficult circumstances and the Israeli aggression and its consequences on Lebanon,” stressing at the same time “the importance of rallying around official institutions, specifically the Lebanese army, which is the pillar of the nation.”

He pointed out that the army “faces the bullets of the Israeli enemy on the one hand, and some unconstructive criticism from some parties in Lebanon on the other hand,” stressing that “it was, is and will remain the backbone of institutions in Lebanon, and it cannot be for the whole nation unless it has one weapon and one decision.”

Chehayeb addressed the issue of displacement, describing it as “temporary displacement as a result of the brutal Israeli aggression that is expanding.” He stressed that the state and its institutions must stand by the affected citizens, considering that “the Lebanese citizen pays the bill for other people’s wars on Lebanese lands,” and pointed to continued communication with various forces to protect the homeland.
