The Economic Department in the South announced that it continued to follow up on citizens’ complaints related to private generators, and carried out verification operations of compliance with the official pricing in a number of towns in the Sidon and Tire districts.
The authority explained, in a statement carried by the National News Agency, that the verification operations included the towns of Ain al-Delb, al-Salhiyya, Harat Sidon and al-Sarfand in the Sidon district, in addition to Deir Qanun al-Nahr, al-Shihabiya, Ain Baal, Batuliyah, Siddiqin, al-Sha’itiyah and Tire in the Tire district.
She indicated that 9 arrest reports were filed against those violating the official price per kilowatt.
She added that copies of the records were deposited with the relevant police stations, each within its geographical scope, to follow up on legal procedures with the Public Prosecution in the South.
