Israeli army spokeswoman Ella Wawiyeh announced, in a post on the “X” platform, the details of a clash that took place today, Monday, in the Beaufort-Beaufour Heights area in southern Lebanon, claiming that an Israeli force clashed with a Hezbollah member, which led to his death and the slight wounding of two Israeli soldiers.
Wawiya said that a force from the “Golani” reconnaissance unit was carrying out sweeping work in the area when a member of the party, who was inside a building, opened fire at the Israeli soldiers.
According to her account, the force returned fire at him and killed him, while during the clash two Israeli soldiers were slightly injured and were taken to the hospital to receive treatment, after informing their families.
Wawiyah added that, within a short time, the forces fired shells towards the site where the member was holed up, noting that he was killed.
It also announced that the Israeli army attacked weapons depots, headquarters, and additional infrastructure in the area, which it said belonged to Hezbollah.
Wawiyah concluded by saying that the Israeli army will continue to work to remove what it considers threats to its forces and citizens, stressing at the same time its commitment to the ceasefire agreement.
