“Lebanon Debate”
A state of anxiety prevailed at the entrance to the town of Maaroub, following an unofficial warning directed to residents of a residential building containing about 20 families, amid fears that it might be targeted.
The Lebanon Debate correspondent reported that a man, a stranger to the town, approached the residents of the building and asked them to evacuate, indicating that there were fears that the building could be targeted.
According to available information, a number of people affiliated with Hezbollah live in the building, but it is not yet clear what the background of the warning was or the party on which the man based his eviction request, and no known official warning was issued regarding the building.
The matter sparked a state of anticipation among residents, especially since the building includes about 20 families, at a time when fears are rising about any sudden developments on the ground.
This comes in light of the tense security atmosphere witnessed in the southern regions, with continuing fears of Israeli attacks, which prompts residents to deal with caution with any warning or information related to the possibility of targeting buildings or residential areas.
