Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met with the Minister of Energy and Water, Joe Al-Saddi, and the Director of the World Bank Group Office in Lebanon, Enrique Blanco Armas, where they discussed the course of the ongoing reforms in the electricity sector and the next steps to develop the energy infrastructure.

During the meeting, the attendees reviewed the progress made in implementing reforms in the electricity sector, in addition to the scheduled timetable for launching the path of partnership between the public and private sectors to establish a new electricity production plant in Deir Ammar.

The discussion also discussed President Salam’s upcoming visit to Washington, and the meetings he will hold with the World Bank Group, within the framework of following up on the energy sector reform agenda and working to mobilize international support for priority investments in infrastructure projects.
