The Anfeh-Batroun Highway, specifically in the area extending between the Anfeh Bridge and the Hamat Bridge, witnessed a security operation carried out by Lebanese Army Intelligence to pursue a number of people suspected of involvement in drug trade and promotion.
According to data, the operation began in the morning hours, after monitoring and following up on the movements of a number of wanted persons, and continued until the evening hours, before the pursuit in the vicinity of the Anfeh Bridge developed into a clash with a number of wanted persons.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a number of those involved and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, which were confiscated, while the competent authorities initiated the necessary legal procedures against the detainees.
Security operations are still continuing to pursue and arrest the rest of those involved in the case.
