MP Ihab Hamadeh questioned the reality of the declared Israeli control over Ali Al-Taher Hill, considering that “ambiguity” still surrounds the field situation there.
Hamada said, in an intervention on Sputnik Radio, that Israel “how can the Israeli enemy claim control over Ali Al-Taher Hill when it is still bombing and raiding it continuously,” noting that it controls it from the air or surrounds it geographically from various sides, “without its forces being able to enter the facility or control it on the ground.”
He added that Israel “did not publish pictures confirming its seizure of Ali Al-Taher or the logistical weapons it spoke about,” wondering how it announced the killing of numbers of fighters and the escape of others, in light of what he described as a “tight seal” by air and land.
Hamadeh believed that Israel is trying to present Ali Al-Taher Hill as “the party’s last bastion,” considering that this might be used as an electoral card by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stressing that the hill is, according to him, “like any other site or hill in southern Lebanon.”
He pointed out that “the resistance carried out a legendary confrontation against Ali Al-Taher,” pointing out that there are “red lines” related to the next stage.
Regarding the “framework understanding,” Hamadeh said that the agreement signed by the authority “enabled Israel to gain this control and seize part of Lebanese territory,” noting that this had been announced by Netanyahu.
Regarding the file of the freed prisoners, Hamadeh said that these people, “according to Netanyahu’s admission,” have no connection or affiliation with the “party,” considering that their detention is “an assault and a war crime,” and that their liberation “is not an achievement for Netanyahu.”
