Prime Minister Nawaf Salam chaired a cabinet session in the government palace, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Mitri and the ministers: Ghassan Salama, Michel Mansi, Joe Seddi, Laura El Khazen, Hanin El Sayed, Youssef Raji, Amer El Bassat, Kamal Shehadeh, Ahmed El Hajjar, Charles El Hajj, Adel Nassar, Noura Bayrakdarian, Rima Karami, Joe Issa El Khoury, Fadi Makki, Mohamed Haidar, Fayez Rasamny, Nizar. Hani, Paul Morcos, Tamara El-Zein and Rakan Nasser El-Din.
The Director-General of the Presidency of the Republic, Antoine Choucair, and the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Judge Mahmoud Makkiya, also attended.
At the beginning of the session, Salam indicated that next week will witness successive sessions to present and discuss the budget, stressing that the file of the vacancy of Lebanese University professors will be presented to the Council of Ministers session next Thursday, as he had previously committed.
For his part, Minister of Economy and Trade, Amer Al-Bassat, announced that the Council of Ministers will discuss the draft 2027 budget, considering that it is too early to speculate on the tax issue, as the budget items will be studied in the House of Representatives.
In a related context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raji, acknowledged, in response to a question, that he would not work at the ministry due to security warnings.
