“Lebanon Debate”

The Cabinet session was held today, which was supposed to discuss the draft budget for the year 2027, after the Ministry of Finance had referred it a few days ago to the Council of Ministers in preparation for its study and discussion.

However, Finance Minister Yassin Jaber was absent from the session, according to what the Lebanon Debate correspondent reported, due to the health problem that befell him on the night of Tuesday-Wednesday. He was subsequently transferred to the American University Hospital in Beirut, where he underwent careful medical examinations, before the doctors asked him to remain in the hospital to complete the examinations.

According to what medical sources reported, the Minister of Finance’s condition is stable and does not cause concern, and he will leave the hospital tomorrow at the latest.

Naturally, Minister Jaber was unable to participate in today’s cabinet session, and with the absence of the relevant minister, it was not possible to discuss the draft budget, which means that his discussion will be postponed to the upcoming September 10 session.
