Representative Jamil Al-Sayyid warned of the repercussions of the current political path in Lebanon, considering that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu needs, before the Israeli elections scheduled for October, to achieve what he described as a “military or political victory,” and that the Lebanon front constitutes an essential part of his calculations.
Al-Sayyed said, in a post on the “X” platform: “Lebanon, the state, gave him everything in the direct negotiations and in the framework agreement, so the guarantees were broken and the south took advantage, and today it insists on the weapons of resistance.”
He added that if this is the solution that “the pillars of our state today are enthusiastic about in secret and in public,” then, as he put it, they must look at what Israel is doing in the new, “neutral” Syria, and what it is doing with Mahmoud Abbas, who he said “stripped his resistance and opened security coordination with Israel against it over the years.”
Al-Sayyed considered that Abbas “is losing the West Bank today, and all he will have left of it is the chair he is sitting on in Ramallah.”
He concluded by saying: “My advice again is to go to the solution I suggested here two days ago before regret no longer works.”
