Prepare for thunderstorms and torrential rains that will hit Lebanon

Lebanon is affected by a depression crossing Türkiye, which leads to a drop in temperatures and the formation of fog on the western mountains, according to a report by weather and climatologist Father Elie Khneisser.

Scattered rains will begin at noon on Friday and continue through Saturday and Sunday, and will be heavier in the north, with the possibility of thunderstorms and torrential rains. The winds are also active, with gusts reaching 50 kilometers per hour, and sea waves rise to about one and a half metres.

The weather fluctuations will continue until Monday, while the weather will turn to moderate summer until August 22.

Thursday’s weather will be semi-hot and humid on the coast, with humidity reaching 88%, before it becomes cloudy on Friday with the temperature dropping by about two degrees.

Thursday temperatures range between 32 and 34 degrees on the coast, between 26 and 27 degrees at an altitude of 1,200 meters, and between 32 and 33 degrees in the Bekaa, and 23 degrees at an altitude of 2,000 meters, according to Khneisser.
