The municipality of Al-Kawashra warned of the recurrence of security incidents and problems in the town, stressing that the security and stability of the people are a “red line,” and calling on the Lebanese army, the internal security forces, and the competent agencies to intervene immediately and decisively to prevent the situation from worsening.
The municipality said, in a statement, that Al-Kawashara has recently witnessed repeated security incidents and problems that have caused a state of anxiety and fear among the people, declaring its categorical rejection of any manifestation of security chaos or tampering with the security and stability of the town.
She stressed that “the security of Al-Kawasharah and its people is a red line,” and that she will not allow anyone, regardless of his capacity or the party behind him, to threaten the safety of citizens, intimidate them, or provoke strife and conflicts within the town.
The municipality appealed to the leadership of the Lebanese Army, the Internal Security Forces, and the competent security agencies to intervene immediately and decisively, intensify patrols and security measures inside the town, pursue those responsible for the accidents, arrest them, and refer them to the competent judiciary, in addition to taking the necessary measures to prevent the situation from worsening and maintain civil peace.
It also called on the people of Al-Kawashara to be aware and responsible, not to be drawn into provocations or rumours, and to cooperate with the municipality and security services by reporting any suspicious movement or behavior.
The municipality confirmed that it will follow up on the file with all concerned official and security authorities until calm and stability are restored and the rule of law is imposed, stressing that it will not tolerate any attack that affects the security of the town and the dignity of its people and their property.
