Member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Ihab Hamadeh, considered that the position of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri was “decisive and eloquent” when he considered that sedition constituted the “objective equivalent” of what he called the “framework of understanding” between the Lebanese authority, Israel, and the United States.
Hamada’s words came during a memorial celebration for the martyrs Muhammad Baqir Samir Iskandar and Hassan Mustafa Al-Lathqani in Husseiniyat Imam Ali in Hermel, in the presence of religious scholars, families of the martyrs, and dignitaries and families.
He said that the only goal of the “Framework of Understanding” is to push the Lebanese into internal fighting in the service of Israel, considering that this would provide relief to Israel in the south, warning that Lebanon may later face greater dangers.
He added, “The authority has entered into a gamble with Lebanon, and not with the resistance and its weapons,” considering that it is betting on internal fighting in the “last game,” calling on the Lebanese to realize the danger of this path.
Hamadeh stressed that what he called the “framework of the agreement” had fallen, and described it as “born burned and dead,” considering that the authority does not have the ability to drag the country into internal fighting, nor can it give Israel what it was unable to achieve during the war.
He stressed that the authority does not have the legitimacy that would enable it to cede any part of Lebanese territory, adding that the constitution is clear that no official, “president or otherwise,” has the right to cede “a grain of soil from the nation’s geography.”
