Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich wrote on his “X” account: “The heart is burning with pain. I hope to convey my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the dearly departed Rotem Yanai, may God have mercy on her, who fell as a result of a Hezbollah plane bombing. The accursed Hezbollah terrorists bear sole responsibility for Rotem’s death, and we must destroy them.”
He continued, escalating: “Mr. Israeli Prime Minister, you know that the only way now to prevent harm to our soldiers is to destroy 10 buildings in the Beirut suburb for every drone. For every drone that harms one of our soldiers, destroy a hundred buildings. Simply put. This is how the response will be a deterrent. Mr. Prime Minister, let the IDF win and protect our soldiers.”
He also published a photo of the female soldier who the Israeli army announced was killed in a military operation in the north of the country.
