This afternoon, the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmed Al-Hajjar, received in his office the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Walid Al-Bukhari, in a farewell visit, during which he thanked him for the efforts he made throughout his work in Lebanon, and awarded him the medal of the Lebanese Ministry of Interior and Municipalities in appreciation of his role in supporting bilateral relations between the two countries and enhancing cooperation between the Lebanese and Saudi Ministries of Interior.
During the meeting, Al-Hajjar stressed that the existing coordination between the Ministries of Interior in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia witnessed, during the last stage, tangible development and close cooperation in a number of joint files, which reflects the mutual keenness to expand areas of cooperation, especially in the drug control file, which he considered “a national priority to protect the security of the Lebanese and Arab communities.”
In turn, Ambassador Al-Bukhari thanked Minister Al-Hajjar for awarding him the medal, praising the efforts he made and the security agencies affiliated with the Ministry, especially in the field of combating drugs.
In another context, Minister Al-Hajjar held a series of meetings with a number of representatives, which dealt with the general situation and the latest developments in the internal arena, especially developments related to the general amnesty law.
The Chairman of the National Defense, Interior and Parliamentary Municipalities Committee received Representative Jihad Al-Samad, accompanied by the Mayor of Beit Al-Faqs Hussein Awada, where they discussed public affairs and the needs of the municipality, especially those related to the bee sector.
He also presented with Representatives Ahmed Al-Khair and Abdulaziz Al-Samad the general situation, and met with Representative Alain Aoun, where development and service affairs were discussed, in addition to receiving Representatives Farid Al-Bustani and Paula Yacoubian, where the discussion dealt with general conditions and files of common interest.
