The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth published a new report in which it said that the Israeli army is currently considering expanding the scope of its ground maneuvers in southern Lebanon to exceed the 10-kilometre yellow line, with the aim of removing the danger posed to its forces by Hezbollah.

The report he translated “Lebanon 24” He says that the army forces are fighting an all-out war in the south corenthatHowever, it is prevented from launching attacks deep into the country and in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Hezbollah’s stronghold.

In addition, the newspaper said that “the process of tracking down senior Hezbollah leaders is still ongoing by the Israeli army,” noting that “all of the party’s leaders and engineers are subject to surveillance and do not enjoy any immunity.”

Yedioth Ahronoth also said, “The Israeli government is having difficulty providing economic, educational, and social solutions to the residents of northern Israel, while the army is also having difficulty providing the security they were promised,” adding, “Even over the weekend, the launching of drones, explosive drones, and missiles toward the northern border communities has not stopped. At the same time, the Israeli army maintains its ambiguity and does not provide information about the scope of Hezbollah’s attacks, while the residents of the north accuse it of “By trying to normalize the dangerous security reality.”

In this context, Yehuda Livni, a resident of northern Israel, said: “The feeling is not comfortable at all… the sound of Israeli army attacks and explosions does not stop, and there is a real war raging here on the border.”

In light of the United States’ announcement to extend the “ceasefire” between Israel and Hezbollah for another 45 days, Livni commented, saying: “We hope that the Israeli army will provide a security solution here, and that we will be able to live in peace and tranquility.”

For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted an Israeli security source as saying, “There is a need for a political breakthrough,” explaining that “it is possible to continue to weaken Hezbollah in southern Lebanon through targeted assassinations, damage to infrastructure, and taking additional operational steps.”

According to the Commission, the source said, “Even if we control all of southern Lebanon, as some suggest, we will not be able, through these steps, to destroy the last remaining Hezbollah explosive drones or missiles.”

The commission stated that “estimates indicate that the ongoing fighting in Lebanon does not guarantee the removal of all threats to northern communities,” and added: “Even strengthening ground control in southern Lebanon will not prevent Hezbollah’s strategy of attrition, which includes firing from high altitudes, launching long-range missiles, using drones, and remote threats.”

The security source whose statement was quoted by the Commission said that “military action alone is not enough,” noting that “what is necessary is to achieve a political breakthrough, in addition to maintaining long-term military deterrence, in order to change reality.”
