This Sunday evening, Lebanon witnessed a massive military escalation with the intensification of Israeli raids on a number of towns in the south and the Western Bekaa, coinciding with intense low-altitude drone flights over several areas.

In the Western Bekaa, the Lebanon Debate representative reported that Israeli drones were flying at low altitude over the town of Sohmar, before a raid was launched that targeted the town in the evening.

According to information, the raid targeted a house at the beginning of the river road in Sohmor, without recording any casualties, while Israeli aircraft returned and carried out a second raid on the town later.

As for the south, Israeli raids continued at a high rate, as warplanes targeted the towns of Al-Mansouri, Harouf, Rumin, and Benaful, amid intense overflights of military aircraft and drones.

A circulating video also documented the moment of the Israeli raid on the town of Benaful, at a time when it was reported that a residential apartment was targeted in the town of Deir Qanun al-Nahr, without causing any casualties.

The escalation later extended to the town of Joya, where an Israeli raid targeted the town amid preliminary information about casualties, before an initial toll was later confirmed that spoke of the death of two people and the injury of two others.

In the same context, Israeli raids targeted the towns of Faron and the area between Arnoun and Yahmar al-Shaqif, in addition to a raid on the town of Kafr Sair, amid information about casualties.

This escalation comes in light of the continuation of open confrontations on the southern front, with Israel intensifying its air strikes and artillery shelling on a large number of Lebanese villages and towns, in conjunction with operations that Hezbollah announces it will carry out against Israeli army sites and concentrations.

The Israeli army had previously announced that 105 soldiers had been wounded during the last week in battles in southern Lebanon, while Israeli media acknowledged that Hezbollah continues to adopt guerrilla warfare and is achieving field results through attrition operations.

The continuing escalation reflects the fragility of the existing ceasefire, amid growing fears that the Lebanese front will slide into a broader confrontation, in light of the escalating regional tension between Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah.
