The southern front witnessed a remarkable field escalation at dawn on Thursday, with the Israeli army announcing the fall of a bomb-laden drone launched by “Hezbollah” in the Ras al-Naqoura area inside Israel, which led to casualties, coinciding with the “Islamic Resistance” announcing the implementation of a series of operations against Israeli positions and forces on the border.
The Israeli army said that a bomb-laden drone belonging to Hezbollah fell in Ras Naqoura inside Israel, wounding two Israelis.
For its part, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that there were 3 injuries, including two serious injuries, as a result of the drone falling on a vehicle site in Ras Naqoura.
Israeli Army Radio also reported that the sirens were not activated in Ras Naqoura, indicating that the air defense systems did not intercept the drone.
In turn, Israeli Channel 12 said that the injured were two workers in a contracting company and a resident of the area.
In parallel, the “Islamic Resistance” announced in a series of statements the implementation of operations against the Israeli army “in defense of Lebanon and its people and in response to violations of the ceasefire and attacks that targeted southern villages and resulted in the death of civilians and the injury of others.”
The “Islamic Resistance” said in its first statement that, at 00:10 am on Thursday morning, it targeted an Israeli Merkava tank in Tal Nahas on the outskirts of the town of Kafr Kila with a guided missile, confirming that a direct hit had been achieved and that the tank was seen burning.
In a second statement, it announced the targeting of an Israeli force that was moving from the town of Bayyada towards the town of Naqoura at 00:15, via a missile salvo.
It also announced in a third statement that it had targeted an Israeli force positioned inside a house in the town of Deir Saryan at 01:00, using artillery and rocket-propelled grenades.
This escalation comes in light of continued tension on the southern front, despite international efforts aimed at establishing the ceasefire and preventing the confrontation from slipping into a more extensive phase.
