
The US Department of State – Consular Affairs issued, through its account on the “X” platform, a notice to American citizens present in Lebanon.
The statement stated: “The US government cares about your safety in Lebanon. We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to share updated information so you can make informed decisions.”
The statement also made it clear that the US government is fully prepared to provide assistance to citizens wishing to leave the Middle East, while stressing that it is working to find additional ways to facilitate their exit from the region.
The statement called on American citizens to always check their emails in anticipation of any new information or urgent changes.
The statement also stressed the close monitoring of the situation and the commitment to providing the necessary information and support to American citizens in the areas that may be affected.
The statement stated that Middle East Airlines continues to operate its flights from Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport, calling on American citizens to carefully consider the option of leaving via these flights if they deem it safe for them.
