After his meeting with President Saad Hariri at the Center House, former head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, said: “The miss for President Saad Hariri is great,” stressing that the Center House “will remain a reference for the patriots and the moderate movement.”
Jumblatt added: “Despite all the obstacles, nothing remains as it is,” stressing regarding the electoral entitlement that “there are elections and we are ready.”
In prominent statements from Beit Al-Wasat, Jumblatt confirmed that the Lebanese army “is making a tremendous effort to withdraw weapons,” noting that skepticism about its efforts comes from within, while “countries, including the United States, praise the work of the army.” He explained that this effort is appreciated by the US Central Command.
Jumblatt also described Prime Minister Hariri’s speech addressed to the people of the south as “excellent,” sending them a special greeting.
In the context of his talk about the elections, Jumblatt said: “We are in elections and we are ready for everything,” indicating that he did not come to the Center House to ask Prime Minister Hariri about his participation, “but to seek advice from him.”
He concluded his speech by emphasizing that “this house will continue despite all obstacles, and nothing lasts.”
It is noteworthy that President Walid Jumblatt, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Nora Jumblatt, visited the tomb of the martyr Prime Minister Rafik Hariri on the 21st anniversary of his martyrdom, where Al-Fatiha was recited over his pure soul and the souls of his companions who were martyred with him.
