Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, and with repeated warnings from the United States about the potential for the conflict to widen, Major General Habibollah Sayyari, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and Deputy Coordinator of the Army, stated that “The Iranian Armed Forces are at the highest levels of readiness and are prepared to face any threat on land, air, and sea.”

In a televised statement made today, Friday, Sayyari affirmed that “The level of readiness of the armed forces today is very high,” stressing that “The armed forces guarantee the country’s future and constitute its shield against any potential aggression.”

It is worth noting that Tehran had threatened in the past few weeks to open what it called “the gates of hell” if Israel launched any new attack on its territory. In return, Israeli officials continue to hint at the possibility of launching preemptive strikes against Iranian military sites.

In this regard, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated days ago that “Israel has achieved major transformations in the region and qualitative successes,” confirming that “The Israeli army has managed to reach the skies of Tehran,” adding that “The battle is not over yet.”

It is recalled that Israel launched a surprise air war last June that lasted for 12 days, during which it targeted military and nuclear sites inside Iran, resulting in the assassination of a number of Iranian military leaders and scientists in the nuclear program, which was then considered a major security breach inside Iran. Tehran responded by launching dozens of missiles towards Israeli territory, plunging the region into one of the most tense periods in years.
