Prince requested personal information and records about a woman who accused him of assault, and police are investigating the allegations, amid official concern about the expansion of the scandal.

Press reports revealed that a member of the royal family requested in 2011 private information and criminal records about a woman who later accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor.

This revelation comes shortly after the person in question announced his relinquishment of some of his titles, in an attempt to reduce the negative effects of a scandal that has plagued him for several years.

The reports stated that the aforementioned person sought assistance from a security official to obtain information about the victim, claiming that she “has a criminal record in the United States” – which the victim’s family strongly denied.

Security officials confirmed that they are “seriously investigating” these new allegations, while a government official described what happened as “very disturbing,” indicating that the scandal is expanding despite the palace’s attempts to contain it.

The person in question had stepped down from his duties as a trade envoy for his country in 2011, then relinquished all official duties in 2019, before being stripped of his military affiliations and royal patronages permanently in 2022.

In the same year, the person settled a lawsuit filed by the victim accusing him of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor.
