Prime Minister Nawaf Salam mourned the martyrs of the Lebanese army who were martyred as a result of the Israeli targeting of a military vehicle, considering that what happened constituted a “described crime” against Lebanon and the Lebanese.
Salam said in a statement: “I offer my sincere condolences to the families and colleagues of the martyrs, Brigadier General Wissam Sabra, Captain Elie Khoury, Private Hussein Ghazal, and to the Lebanese army.”
He stressed that “targeting them by Israel is a described crime and targeting Lebanon and all Lebanese,” stressing that the attack that targeted members of the military establishment is not limited to targeting individuals performing their national duty, but rather affects the Lebanese state, its institutions and its sovereignty.
The Prime Minister’s position comes after the Israeli targeting that claimed the lives of a number of soldiers while carrying out their duties, in an incident that sparked a wave of widespread political and official condemnations.
