The debate over direct negotiations with Israel entered a more intense stage, after a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Ibrahim al-Moussawi, invoked the position of former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, who called for not continuing negotiations as long as Israel did not stop the killing and attacks.
Al-Moussawi, through his account on the “X” platform, commented on the file of direct negotiations in light of the continued Israeli killing and attacks, saying: “Even President Fouad Siniora denounced their negligence and negligence, and asked them to take a position not to go to direct negotiations as long as Israel does not stop the killing and aggression.”
Al-Moussawi concluded his post by saying: “I would have listened if you called someone alive!”
Siniora had considered, in an interview with Al-Arabiya TV, that the Lebanese government had a pressure card to stop participating in negotiations with Israel until it committed to a serious ceasefire.
Siniora believed that continuing negotiations in light of the intense Israeli raids, killings and destruction is illogical, pointing out that Israel is carrying out more than 120 raids daily, and that the United States of America has not provided real support to Lebanon that would enable it to continue the negotiating process.
