The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced that the Ainata-Al-Arz road is now passable for four-wheel drive vehicles and only for necessary cases, after work carried out by the Ministry’s teams to remove snow accumulations and open the road.

The Ministry called on citizens not to use the road except when absolutely necessary, until the specialized teams complete the work of widening the road and removing the remaining rocks and obstacles, in order to preserve public safety.

It also warned of the formation of layers of ice during the morning and evening hours, in addition to the possibility of avalanches in some sections, calling on drivers to be extremely careful.

This comes in light of the continuing weather fluctuations and cold weather in the mountainous areas, as Ministry of Public Works teams continue to open vital mountain roads and secure traffic, in conjunction with warnings of the dangers of ice and slides in the Lebanese highlands.
