Representative Jamil Al-Sayyed began a post on the “X” platform with the phrase “high treason,” opening the file of what he described as Lebanon’s waiver, in the “Framework Agreement,” of its right to sue Israel before international forums for committing massacres and crimes against humanity in southern Lebanon.

Al-Sayyed wondered: “Would Israel have imposed this condition on Lebanon if it had not already known that it was committing those massacres that increased after Lebanon signed this criminal waiver?”

He asked: “By what right, law and constitution did the Lebanese delegation, negotiating on behalf of the president, give up the rights of thousands of Lebanese victims, children, women and men, in addition to the systematic destruction of villages, institutions, infrastructure, hospitals, schools, etc.?”

He continued: “Doesn’t this concession deserve a meeting of the Lebanese Parliament to hold its perpetrators responsible for the crime of high treason?”

In the context of strengthening his position, Al-Sayed reposted a video clip of British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, in which he said: “Netanyahu is committing war crimes and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians.”

Miliband added: “What the Netanyahu government is doing in Gaza is a stain on the conscience of the world, and there is growing evidence that war crimes have been committed. There is ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in areas of the West Bank, committed by armed settlers, and the Israeli government has often turned a blind eye to it.”

He continued: “What is worse is that its members made statements and took measures to support the forced displacement of Palestinians. We will not stand idly by.”
