Prime Minister Nawaf Salam called the Mayor of Nabatieh, Abbas Fakhreddine, the Imam of the city, Sheikh Abdul Hussein Sadiq, and the Minister of Finance, Yassin Jaber, in the wake of the Israeli attacks that targeted Nabatieh at dawn today, stressing that the government will continue to support the return and steadfastness of the people and ensure the continuity of the work of public facilities.
During his call with the mayor of Nabatieh, Salam was reassured of the safety of the people and was informed of the extent of the damage caused by the attacks in the city, stressing that what happened would not deter the government from continuing to support the return of residents to their city and secure their basic needs.
Salam stressed the government’s commitment to providing everything necessary to continue the operation of public facilities and meet the needs of citizens, in light of the damage that affected a number of facilities and institutions in Nabatieh.
He also called the Imam of the city of Nabatieh, Sheikh Abdel Hussein Sadiq, expressing his solidarity with the people, offering condolences to the families of the civilian martyrs, and wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.
In the same context, Salam communicated with the Minister of Finance, Yassine Jaber, and informed him of the damage caused to the Ministry of Finance building in Nabatieh as a result of the attacks.
The Prime Minister praised Jaber’s quick move to take the necessary measures to ensure the continuation of work in the building, secure the interests of citizens, and not disrupt their transactions.
Salam’s move comes after a wave of Israeli attacks that targeted the city of Nabatieh and its surroundings, causing damage to civilian and public facilities, which prompted official authorities to begin assessing the damage and work to ensure the continuation of basic services.
