Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Mansi, discussed with his Serbian counterpart, Bratislav Gacic, ways to develop bilateral relations and enhance cooperation between Lebanon and Serbia, especially in the defense and military fields.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Serbian Ministry of Defense in Belgrade, in the presence of Lebanon’s Ambassador to Serbia, Youssef Jabr, where the two sides discussed the importance of adhering to the principles established by the Non-Aligned Movement, most notably respecting the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.
The two sides also stressed the adoption of dialogue and peaceful means to resolve disputes, which contributes to enhancing security and stability.
Mansi affirmed Lebanon’s adherence to these principles, stressing the need to preserve its sovereignty, support its legitimate institutions, and enhance the role of the Lebanese army, in addition to enabling the state to extend its authority over its entire territory, in a way that establishes stability and opens the way to achieving security and peace.
