South Lebanon witnessed a series of successive Israeli attacks during the dawn hours and this morning, distributed between air strikes, artillery shelling, and field bombings, coinciding with the advance of a mechanized force towards the outskirts of the town of Kfar Shuba and raising the Israeli flag over a house.
At 6:00 am, Israeli forces carried out a large explosion in the area between the towns of Aita al-Jabal and Hadada, the echo of which was heard in a number of surrounding areas.
In the morning hours, Israeli artillery shelling continued on the town of Haris, targeting a number of homes, while the shelling continued on the area.
An Israeli mechanized force also advanced in the morning towards the eastern outskirts of the town of Kfar Shuba, before raising the Israeli flag on the roof of a house, in a new field movement in the eastern sector of the south.
At 3:00 am, the artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of the town of Mifdoun and Wadi Saluki, while at 2:00 am Israeli forces carried out an explosion in the eastern town of Zawtar.
At 1:10 am, Israeli warplanes launched a raid targeting the town of Al-Mansouri, after an explosion occurred in the town at approximately 1:00 am.
The bombing in Al-Mansouri coincided with an Israeli artillery bombardment that targeted the outskirts of the towns of Yater, Hadada, and Haris, in addition to Wadi Al-Saluki, which left a large number of southern regions under the weight of explosions and bombardment throughout the night.
The map of the attacks reveals the expansion of the scope of the escalation from Al-Mansouri in the western sector, through the towns of Bint Jbeil, Nabatieh, and Wadi Al-Saluki, all the way to Kafr Shuba in the eastern sector, with Israel using warplanes, artillery, bombings, and ground movements over a similar period of time.
These developments come days after repeated Israeli attacks that targeted several areas in the south and Nabatieh, and included raids on the vicinity of Ali Al-Taher, Al-Dabsha, Nabatieh Al-Fawqa, Baraashit, Al-Mansouri, and Kafr Rumman, in addition to artillery shelling, explosions, and field movements inside a number of border towns.
The targeting of homes in Haris and the mechanized advance towards the outskirts of Kafr Shuba are two prominent developments within today’s attacks, as the escalation was not limited to remote bombing, but was accompanied by an Israeli ground movement and the raising of the flag over a building, amid continuing tension and expanding fears for the safety of residents and their property.
